How to Upload Identity Documents

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to My Documents

Click My Documents in the sidebar navigation menu.

Step 2: Locate the Identity Verification Section

The page displays document categories. Look for Identity Verification at the top of the page.

Step 3: Open the Document Card

On mobile, tap the Identity Verification section to expand it. On desktop, the card is already visible.

You will see:

  • Document name: "Government ID / Passport"

  • Status chip: "Pending" (if not yet uploaded)

  • Description: "Valid passport, EU national ID, or Luxembourg residence card"

Step 4: Upload Your File

On Desktop:

  1. Click the dashed upload area

  2. A file picker opens

  3. Select your document file

  4. Alternatively, drag and drop the file directly onto the upload area

On Mobile:

  1. Tap the Upload Government ID / Passport button

  2. Choose to take a photo or select from your files

  3. Confirm your selection

Step 5: Wait for the upload to complete

A progress indicator appears during upload. Do not close the page until you see:

  • The status changes to Under Review

  • A confirmation toast message appears: "Document uploaded"


What Happens Next

  • Your document status changes from "Pending" to Under Review

  • The MyStaysCo team reviews your document within 24-48 hours

  • You receive an email notification when verification is complete

  • If verified, the status changes to Verified (green)


Tips for Successful Uploads

  • Ensure good lighting when taking photos

  • Keep the document flat, avoid angles or shadows

  • Include all four corners of the document in the image

  • Check that text is readable before submitting

  • Use PDF format when you have a scanned copy available
